Is a mesh pool fence sturdy, or can a child push it over?

Yes. Installed to ASTM F2286, removable mesh is considered just as safe as permanent wrought iron or aluminum for keeping young children away from the water, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends it as a key layer of protection. It's sturdier than the name implies: rigid aluminum poles, each reinforced with a solid core and internal I-beam, anchor into the deck every few feet, so the barrier is as solid as a permanent fence, just removable. A permanent fence is no safer. The difference is what happens when your children outgrow it: ours comes out without tearing up your decking, and no permanent fence is left behind.
Is pool fencing required by law in Texas?
